UPDATE 7:15 a.m.: Please be extremely cautious if you need to travel this morning. Lake Geneva is responding to multiple trees down and very low hanging branches in the roadways from the weight of the ice. Police also are experiencing a high number of power line down calls. Please treat all down wires as live wires and stay away and notify the utility company.
WALWORTH COUNTY — Power currently remains out in many communities throughout Walworth County.
According to the Alliant Energy online outage dashboard, hundreds of customers currently are without power in Delavan, Lake Geneva and many of the villages surrounding the lakes.
Elkhorn and northern parts of the county currently are unaffected.
Crews are out, but there us no estimate of when power will be restored.
Lake Geneva has been without power overnight, with police warning that stol lights are nor working.
Sleet and freezing rain began falling in Walworth County late Wednesday morning and has continued throughout the day.
At the same time, northern Wisconsin has been hit with a major snowstorm.
