DELAVAN — A familiar face to many in her hometown has been named the new executive director of the Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Malinda Obershaw, who grew up in Delavan and has spent 30 years in newspaper sales and marketing, is expected to begin her new role Monday, May 8, 2023.

She began her career selling advertising for the Delavan Enterprise and The Walworth County Week Newspaper and has been with the Beloit Daily News for the past 15 years.

In Beloit, she served nine years on the board of the Downtown Beloit Association and will lean on that experience in her new position.

“I’m truly blessed to have worked with some incredible people and businesses,” Obershaw wrote on Facebook, “I look forward to building more memories on this new adventure with the fine folks in Delavan and the incredibly welcoming board I have already met at the DDLA Chamber.”
