APPLETON — The Badgers scored early, then they scored often to upset the state baseball tournament’s top seed to advance to the state semifinal.

The #8 Badger High School baseball team in Lake Geneva defeated #1 Hudson 14-3 Monday in WIAA Division 1 state quarterfinal game.

Holding a 5-3 lead heading into the fifth, Badger scored nine runs in the inning, and Hudson never recovered.

The #8 Badgers next face #5 Hamilton in the Division 1 semifinal at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
