DELAVAN LAKE — Two people drowned Saturday on Delavan Lake in two separate incidents.

In the first incident, the Town of Delavan Police Department and
Town of Delavan Fire Department were dispatched at 11:36 a.m. to the 2300 block of South Shore Drive for a report of a possible drowning.

When they arrived, officers and first responders located a 57-year-old male from LaGrange Park, Illinois, unresponsive on a boat. Lifesaving measures were immediately initiated and continued by Officers and emergency personnel.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to a news release.

Then at about 2:30 p.m., authorities received a report of a man in the water near the Viewcrest area of Delavan Lake.

Dive and sonar teams from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources joined local responders in the effort. Specialized equipment and trained personnel were utilized to thoroughly search the area.

The body of a 26-year-old Texas man was later recovered from the water following a coordinated multi-agency response.
