LAKE GENEVA — First responders were called out Sunday morning to recover a car submerged in Geneva Lake.
The car was discovered during this weekend’s busy Oktoberfest festival and authorities said they didn’t know if anyone was still trapped inside the car when they arrived.
Crews from two stations responded and divers were quick to gear up and confirmed there were no occupants in or immediately around the vehicle, according to a Lake Geneva Fire Department news release.
Diers then worked with Larry’s Towing & Recovery to secure and remove the vehicle from the water.
Authorities did not immediately identify the car’s owner or how it got into the lake.
Fontana Fire and Rescue and Water Safety Patrol their boats to keep the area safe and clear for the divers.
