ELKHORN — The Walworth County Medical Examiner has identified the woman found dead Saturday in the town of LaFayette as Jody L. Marzello, 62, of Elkhorn.

Marzello was found when police were called for a report of two men fighting at the home.

Police continue to investigate Marzello’s death, but no charges have been filed yet in that case.

However, Joseph P Christman, 38, of Elkhorn, is in custody in the Walworth County Jail for charges related to the altercation that first drew authorities to the residence.

According to a news release, Christman is being held on $500,000.00 cash bond and is currently charged with 1st degree attempted homicide, aggravated battery – intend great bodily harm, strangulation and suffocation, first-degree reckless endangerment, and intimidate victim/use or attempted force, all modifiers of domestic abuse assessments, use of a dangerous weapon.
