DELAVAN – The Walworth County Democratic Party is joining Americans nationwide to protest what organizers describe as an authoritarian administration undermining the Constitution.

The peaceful protest will take place Saturday, March 28, from 3–5 p.m. at Phoenix Park, 111 E. Wisconsin St., Delavan. Together, participants will stand against abuses of power, cruelty, and corruption—and remind President Trump and his allies: America has NO KINGS!

According to a news release, the event marks the third “NO KINGS” national day of action, a coordinated mobilization responding to concerns about the direction of the Trump administration. Previous events drew millions of participants across the country. In October alone, more than seven million people participated in over 2,700 events. This year, more than 3,000 local events are already planned—making it the largest No Kings mobilization to date.

Organizers point to a range of concerns, including executive overreach, illegal wars, immigration enforcement abuses, illegal tariffs, threats to civil liberties, and policy decisions adversely affecting affordability for families, health care, education, and environmental protections. They argue these actions reflect a broader pattern of consolidating power, violating our constitution and undermining democratic norms.

“Our community is intentionally collaborating to push back against President Trump’s violent, authoritarian actions,” said Anita Loch, Walworth Dems Chair. “We’re bringing together area residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do dictators or kings in America.”

The Delavan protest will begin at Phoenix Park with speakers representing the League of Women Voters, Voces de la Frontera, and local veterans. The event will also include music, singing and a march through the downtown area. Organizers expect more than 1,000 attendees.

The Walworth County Democratic Party celebrates the inherent diversity across our county while supporting the economic and social well-being of all county residents, according to the news release. They say their mission is to support and defend the United States Constitution, engage voters to elect candidates who fight for democratic values, and assert that human and civil rights are basic freedoms belonging to everyone. They believe in human dignity and rights; freedom and equality; stability and prosperity; accountability and justice; and diversity and inclusion.
