DELAVAN β The Delavan-Darien School District announced Tuesday that Superintendent Drew Halbesma has submitted his resignation, effective at the conclusion of his current contract on June 30, 2026.
Halbesma will remain in his role as superintendent through June 30, 2026, continuing to support the district’s work and ensuring a smooth and stable transition.
β”Serving the Delavan-Darien School District has been an incredible honor,” Halbesma was quoted as saying in a news release. “I am deeply grateful for the students, staff, families, and community who make this district so special. I remain fully committed to our work and to finishing strong together over the next couple of months.”
βThe Delavan-Darien Board of Education will begin the process of determining next steps for district leadership. The board said it will communicate with staff, families, and the community once final approvals and transition plans are in place.
In its news release, the district thanked Halbesma for his leadership and service and is committed to a thoughtful and transparent process moving forward, one that prioritizes continuity and student success.
