DELAVAN — A 12-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries Friday in a crash between a scooter and a vehicle in Delavan.

According to a news release, the City of Delavan Police Department, Fire Department, and Medix responded about 3:34 p.m. Friday to a report of a motor vehicle versus scooter crash at the intersection of South Second Street and East Wisconsin Street.

The vehicle driver was a 16-year-old, and the scooter operator was a 12-year-old.

The scooter operator was transported by Flight for Life with life-threatening injuries.

The driver is cooperating with law enforcement.

Since this involves juveniles, their identities are withheld, police said.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has been requested to assist with heading the investigation.

No further information will be released until the investigation is complete, which is expected to take several weeks.

The City of Delavan Street Department, Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted.
