WILLIAMS BAY — A unique holiday spectacle returns Friday when glass spinning begins at the World’s Tallest Glass Tree on the grounds of Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay.
Presented by Mack Glass and the Elliott Organization, the nine-day event takes place over the first three weekends in December of 2023.
Work takes place Dec. 1-3, Dec. 8-10, Dec. 15-17, 2023. Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
Witness the building of the World’s Tallest Glass Tree, live glassblowing, steel sculpting and woodworking alongside a Winter Market comprised of local artisans, craftspeople and custom handmade glassware made by Mack.
Yerkes Observatory will conduct curated tours inside in accordance with the festival schedule.
Special guest artists, including Netflix star Rae Ripple, will collaborate with the Mack Glass team to create custom handblown glass and steel art pieces.
Area residents can help grow the tree by donating their clear or green glass at one of the multiple drop-off locations beginning November 15th 2023.
