DELAVAN — The Delavan-Darien School District announced Thursday the hiring of Mark Kibler as the new head coach for the Comets football team.

Kibler, a 2006 DDHS alum and former assistant coach for the Comets, brings years of coaching experience and a love for football to his new position, according to a news release from the district.

He previously coached for the Comets football team from 2012-2017. His dedication to excellence, coupled with his ability to inspire and motivate players, makes him the ideal leader to guide our student-athletes to success both on and off the field.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Kibler to our Comet Nation family,” said Kyle Polzin, Athletic & Activities Director for Delavan-Darien School District. “His proven leadership, combined with his commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes, aligns perfectly with our school District’s values and goals.”

Kibler is known for his ability to inspire and motivate players, instilling in them a strong work ethic, discipline, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. He is known for his strategic approach to the game and his emphasis on teamwork, which will help his athletes continue to thrive and excel in all aspects of the game, according to the news release.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to be a head football coach, but to be the head coach of this
program, it is surreal and I am extremely humbled. I am honored to join the Comet Nation family
and lead the football program to new heights,” Kibler said. “I believe in creating a culture of
excellence where student-athletes can reach their full potential, both on the field and in the
classroom. I am excited to work alongside our dedicated coaching staff and talented student-athletes to achieve success. Together, we will strive for excellence in every aspect of the game and continue to make our school community proud.”
