LAKE GENEVA – After a successful summer with her mobile book trailer, owner Alicia Boemi is now officially opening the doors to the next chapter, a permanent bookstore in downtown Lake Geneva.

Lakeside Books opens Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, inside the Market of Lake Geneva, 830 W. Main St.

The store features:

Curated bookshelves spanning fiction, nonfiction, and dedicated Kid’s Only section.

A cozy Book Nook with floral selfie wall and lounge seating.

Local artwork on consignment.

Porch-front charm with seasonal decor.

A curated selection of lake-inspired apparel and other goods from sister brand, The Lake Dog.

A fantasy feature table celebrating Lake Geneva’s D&D® legacy for Dragon Days events in town the same weekend.

But Lakeside Books isn’t just about browsing shelves. Boemi has a bigger vision: to create a year-round community hub where stories come alive and people connect.

“We’re designing this to be more than a bookstore,” said Boemi. “We want it to be a place where kids come for storytime, adults come for book club, friends meet for author events, and even high schoolers can grab a book or take a break from busy life. Whether you’re here for the weekend or for a lifetime, we want Lakeside Books to feel like home.”
