DARIEN — Police are searching for a man who they say broke into video gaming machines Tuesday night at a Darien bar in Walworth County and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police have issued a state-wide alert to warn other area taverns.
The happened shortly after 8 p.m.
According to a news release, the thief wore heavy, bulky clothing to hide his movements as he broke a padlock and emptied the money cabinets of the machines.
Investigators believe he was driving a red Ford Explorer, likely a model from between 2002 and 2005.
Officials are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity to contact the Delavan Police Department and reference case number 26-002696.
