ELKHORN — The Elkhorn Police Department is welcoming Jon Albrecht as the city’s next chief of police.
Albright takes over for longtime Chief Joel Christensen, who retired earlier this year after 36 years of service to the community.
Albrecht comes to the Elkhorn with 20 years of law enforcement experience.
He served with the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and most recently with the Town of Linn where he served as sergeant and then promoted to Chief of Police in 2022.
Family and friends gathered to watch his swearing in along with his badge pinning by his wife, Margie.
“If you see Chief Albrecht around town please extend a warm welcome. He is excited and looks forward to meeting the great residents of our community,” read a post on social media from tge department.
