LAKE GENEVA — Artist Pam McCaslin of Burlington is among the artists featured in the Geneva Lakes Art Foundation’s Late Summer Art Show, on display at Gallery 223 through Sept. 20.
McCaslin is a relatively new member of the Geneva Lakes Art Foundation, but art has been a lifelong interest. She studied art in Wisconsin, working in painting, ceramics, collage and figure drawing, and later applied her creative background to graphic design and newsletter production.
Her current work often combines watercolor with mixed-media elements, including textured paper and natural materials. Much of her inspiration comes from nature, beginning with her childhood along the Illinois River and continuing today in Burlington, where animals, birds and insects provide subjects and ideas for her work.
McCaslin has exhibited her work in art shows, galleries, coffee shops and church events.
Her piece in the Late Summer Art Show, “Make New Trails,” features a watercolor horse accented with beads and a feather, adding texture and dimension to the work.
McCaslin’s work can be seen as part of the Late Summer Art Show at Gallery 223, presented by the Geneva Lakes Art Foundation. The exhibit runs July 30 through Sept. 20.
