DELAVAN — A suspect is in custody after a victim was stabbed multiple times Sunday morning in Delavan.
According to a news release, officers were called to the area of 820 Parash Court for a report that someone had been stabbed and that a person was seen fleeing the area.
When they arrived, officers located the victim and provided emergency medical assistance after determining that the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds.
The victim was conscious and able to speak with officers prior to being taken to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is expected to recover from the injuries.
Through the preliminary investigation, officers identified a suspect. With assistance from the responding law-enforcement agencies, officers located and took the suspect into custody.
There is no ongoing threat to the public related to this incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information, including the identity of the suspect and any potential charges, will be released when that information can be provided without compromising the investigation or the judicial process.
