LAKE GENEVA — The Badgers of Lake Geneva High School will play in Madison for a WIAA Division 2 state championship after defeating Sun Prairie East 28-6 Friday in Oconomowoc.
The Badgers, 13-0 on the season, will face Waunakee, 24-14 winners over Kaukauna.
Lake Geneva police and fire will escort the statebound Badger Football team on their way back home from the game Friday night.
They will be getting off 120 by Piggly Wiggly and escorted through town by the Lake Geneva Fire and Police Departments. Approximately 10:45 pm.
The 2-seed Badgers had a relatively easy run through their side of the bracket winner:
- 49-17 over Elkhorn
- 35-10 over Waukesha West
- 28-7 over 1-seed Kettle Moraine
The 2023 State Football Championships take place Thursday & Friday, Nov. 16-17 at Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wis.
