LINN TOWNSHIP — An Illinois man wanted by police is on the run after escaping by boat Wednesday on Geneva Lake.

According to a news release, a subject wanted by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office fled by boat about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Geneva Lake Police Department.

The subject abandoned the boat at a slip near the Wooddale Pier and continued on foot in the Wooddale Subdivision.

The subject was last seen wearing black shorts, no shoes and no shirt. An extensive search of the area was completed, and the subject has not been located as of Wednesday evening.
