DELAVAN — Delavan police and the Delavan-Darien School District say there was no threat today to students and staff Monday morning, despite reports of an incident circulating on social media.

In a statement, the Delavan-Darien School District addressed a report that has recently been circulating on social media concerning two people who were reportedly attempting to check into Delavan-Darien High School Monday morning.

The district says that at no time were they a threat to students or staff.

Administration, in coordination with our school resource officers, promptly followed all established safety protocols, according to the statement.

The individuals in question did not enter the building at any point, and the situation was handled swiftly and effectively, the district said.

Police say all safety procedures were followed and the DDHS SRO along with additional support from other officers resolved the issue without incident.
