Flood spent 55 years in the lumber business first at the family business, Doyon and Rayne Lumber, in Delavan and later at Dunn Lumber in Lake Geneva.

He joined the City of Delavan Fire Department as a volunteer in 1957 and retired in 2014 after serving over 30 years as Chief.

Fitting for a 57 year career with the fire department, the new station built in 2011 carries his name.

He was a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Church in Delavan, attending grade school there.

Growing up he was a three sport athlete at Delavan High School and supported Delavan-Darien sports for years while his children and grandchildren were in school.

He lived in the same house for almost his entire life and his front porch has been a familiar gathering spot for passersby for decades in the summer.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy, along with his children and grandchildren.
