LAKE GENEVA — Works of art by high school students will be featured at the annual Student Art Show presented at Gallery 223 by the Geneva Lake Arts Foundation on Thursday-Sunday, April 10-13, 2025 at Gallery 223 in downtown Lake Geneva.
The exhibit will be highlighted by a reception at 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Gallery 223, located at 223 Broad St. in Lake Geneva.
During the event awards will be presented to outstanding student artists. The foundation will award $1,000 in prizes to an emerging artist and for merit awards, according to a news release.
The $750 Neal and Dotsy Heffernan Memorial Award for the best of show will be presented by a Lake Geneva Rotary Club representative.
The other honors are the $500 Louis Mergener Memorial Award for outstanding work, $500 Martin Smith Memorial Award for creative work, and $500 John Larson Memorial Award for innovative work.
The judges are Lisa Dukowitz of Burlington and Caroll Pearson of Lake Geneva. Both are former high school art teachers and award-winning artists who are members of the foundation.
Students participating in the show attend Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Big Foot High School in Walworth, Catholic Central High School in Burlington, Delavan-Darien High School in Delavan, and the schools in East Troy, Elkhorn, Whitewater, and Williams Bay.
Each school was invited to submit 10 pieces of art.
Gallery 223 is at 223 Broad St. in Lake Geneva and is owned and operated by the nonprofit arts Geneva Lake Arts Foundation.
After the opening reception, hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
