WHITEWATER — A mobile home was destroyed and two vehicles were damaged in a fire Wednesday evening in Whitewater.
According to a press release from the Whitewater Fire and EMS Department fitefighters responded to the Twin Oaks Mobile Home Park at approximately 7 p.m. after the residents returned home to find smoke as soon as they opened the door and called 911.
The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when the first fire crews arrived.
The fire then spread to two vehicles parked nearby.
An aggressive response by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to a neighboring trailer and shed.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but authorities said it is not considered suspicious.
The Lauderdale-LaGrange Fire Department and the City of Whitewater Police Department assisted at the scene.
