LAKE COMO — A floating sauna has launched this season on Lake Como, providing guests with a truly healthy Norwegian experience.
Sauna aboard the Svett Ship, moored off the French County Inn.
Owner Erik Munck, a Chicago native who has been coming to the Geneva Lakes area since he was a kid, says this is one of the first floating saunas of its kind in the US.
Munck says his father is from Norway (Svett means ‘sweat’ in Norwegian) and he was inspired to build this during his last trip to Norway where he went on a sauna boat with his family.

It was a great way to experience nature while doing something healthy and fun and he wanted to bring this experience to Wisconsin given how many incredible lakes are here.
It is also a great way to experience and appreciate our amazing lakes during the colder months as well (even when the lake freezes he can cut holes in the ice).
Munck offers moored sessions at French County Inn that can be reserved online and cruising sessions by email request (erik@svettclub.com)
Munck says he also has an experience in Waupaca and is planning on opening the Svett Ship in Chicago.
