LAKE GENEVA — A Badger High School senior has been awarded the prestigious Leading Scholar Award from Michigan Tech University.
Moira Gerard has been awarded the full-tuition scholarship for four years, awarded to only 20 students nationwide each year, Badger High School announced Monday.
Gerard plans to double major in Biomedical Engineering and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, with a career goal of becoming a Professor of Genetics Ecology.
To earn this highly competitive scholarship, Gerard submitted an essay on leading through collaboration and bridging disagreements, participated in a full day of interviews, and engaged with Michigan Tech faculty from across campus.
