UPDATE: 8:33 p.m.: The body of a 26-year-old Texas man was recovered Saturday following an apparent drowning in Delavan Lake.

According to the latest news release, the Walworth County 911 Communications Center received a report about 2:30 p.m. Saturday of a man in the water near the Viewcrest area of Delavan Lake.

Emergency personnel from the Town of Delavan Police Department and Town of Delavan Fire Department were immediately sent to the scene.

The victim’s body was later recovered from the water following a coordinated multi-agency response.

“This is a devastating and tragic incident, and our thoughts are with those affected during this incredibly difficult time,” officials said in the news release.

A full-scale search and recovery operation was launched upon arrival.

Dive and sonar teams from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources joined local responders in the effort. Specialized equipment and trained personnel were utilized to thoroughly search the area.

The subject was located and recovered as part of this coordinated operation.

At this time, the investigation remains active. However, no foul play is suspected.

The name of the individual is being withheld pending family notifications by Walworth County Medical Examiners Office.

DELAVAN LAKE — Rescue teams searched Delavan Lake Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of a drowning victim.

The Town of Delavan Police Department, Town of Delavan Fire Department, and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office were coordinating their response to a reported drowning incident on Delavan Lake.

Emergency personnel responded promptly to the initial report Saturday, and recovery operations are currently underway, according to a news release published about 5 p.m.

The search area is near the Viewcrest neighborhood on the lake’s far west end.

Specialized resources, including sonar and dive teams, have been deployed as part of this multi-agency effort.

The safety of all personnel is a top priority, and the involved agencies are committed to conducting a thorough and respectful search, according to officials.

Verified updates will be shared with the public as appropriate. Out of respect for those impacted, no further identifying information is being released at this time.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to operate efficiently and without obstruction.
