LAKE GENEVA — The Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District has moved its regularly scheduled “Coffee with the Superintendent” and will limit the number of community members who can attend as interest grows following recent staff resignations at Central-Denison Elementary.

District officials posted this update Sunday to social media:

UPDATE: Coffee with the Superintendent, Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Lake Geneva Schools values open communication and strong partnerships with our families, staff, and community. In response to increased community interest and engagement, this month’s Coffee with the Superintendent will be held at the District Office to better accommodate attendees and support meaningful conversation.

Coffee with the Superintendent is designed as an informal opportunity for community members to share questions, perspectives, and concerns directly with the Superintendent. Dr. Peter Wilson and district leadership are committed to listening carefully, understanding community feedback, and continuing transparent communication with the broader school community as conversations move forward.

To help us prepare the space and ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone attending, community members are now required to RSVP by calling 262-348-1000 by Tuesday, May 19, at 2:00 PM. If attendance exceeds available seating, additional opportunities for conversation may be scheduled.

As we gather, we ask all participants to help maintain a respectful, constructive environment that reflects our shared commitment to students and our school community.

Meeting Guidelines:
The Coffee with the Superintendent event is designed for constructive community dialogue. The Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District values every voice in our community, including our teachers, staff, parents, students, and neighbors, and we are committed to working together to ensure our schools remain a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued. We ask all attendees to engage respectfully so that every voice can be heard.

  • This is an informal community listening session, not a formal board meeting or hearing. It is not a decision-making body, and no official action can be taken.
  • Check-in is required upon arrival. Attendees must check in at the door with their name and RSVP confirmation before being seated. This ensures we can accommodate waitlisted community members if any reserved spots are unfilled.
  • To protect the privacy of all attendees and foster honest conversation, recording and live streaming by attendees is not permitted.
  • A sign-up sheet will be available upon arrival at 9:15 AM. Attendees who wish to speak must add their name before the meeting begins at 9:30 AM. Speakers will be called in the order they signed up. Each attendee may speak once. Time may not be yielded or transferred to another attendee. If time allows, additional speakers may be recognized at the Superintendent’s discretion.
  • Each speaker will have 2 minutes to ensure as many voices as possible are heard within our one-hour window. Please be mindful of others who wish to speak.
  • Comments should be respectful, solution-focused, and directed at topics, not at individuals. Personal attacks or targeted criticism of specific staff or community members will not be permitted.
  • Individual staff concerns and personnel matters are confidential by law and cannot be discussed. District leadership is actively reviewing concerns that have been raised, and staff members are encouraged to utilize the district’s grievance procedures as outlined in district policy.
  • Not all questions can be answered in real time. Questions and concerns raised during this session may be taken under advisement and responded to in writing following the meeting. Community members may also reach out directly at info@badger.k12.wi.us.
  • Behavior that disrupts the dialogue, including speaking out of turn, intimidating others, or refusing to yield the floor, will result in a warning and may result in removal from the session. The district reserves the right to pause or adjourn the session if it cannot be conducted in an orderly manner.
  • The district is committed to ongoing community conversation. Additional session(s) will be scheduled as needed.

We appreciate the community’s continued partnership and involvement in Lake Geneva Schools.
