WALWORTH COUNTY — Alliant crews are expected to work through the night to restore power to the remaining Lake Geneva, Delavan and town of Geneva areas by early Tuesday morning.
Alliant anticipate 90% restoration in the areas of Como, Lake Geneva and Delavan by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, July 7), according to the utility’s latest update.
Crews are working in the hardest hit areas and the restoration process will slow due to the heavier amount of natural debris that has to be removed in order for us to make repairs, and in most cases rebuilt.

07.05.2026 (8:30 a.m.) – There are currently around 3,700 customers that remain without power in the Walworth County/Lake Geneva area. The extent of the damage from the storm is severe and ongoing tree and debris clearance work continue to take place as Alliant Energy crews progress steadily circuit by circuit restoring power. All available crews have been called to assist, including many from Iowa.
Today, crews will be working in the Lake Como and North Geneva area, focusing on restoration in that portion of the community. We are working as quickly and efficiently as possible and appreciate your patience.

07.04.2026 (11:15 a.m.) – We currently have around 6,500 customers out in the Walworth County/Lake Geneva area and crews are out working on tree clearance, pole setting and line repair. Again, due to the extent of damage and the number of broken poles, we expect restoration efforts to continue through the day today and into tomorrow at a minimum. ATC (transmission) is still assessing the damage to their system and we are coordinating necessary repairs with them.
All available crews have been called in to assist. We continue to monitor mutual assistance options as well.
We’re appreciative of the support from local first responders and emergency management in helping to keep the public safe. Impacted customers in need of a cooling shelter can find resources with the Red Cross at the Walworth Co. Health and Human Service building.

07.04.2026 (6:30 a.m.) – There are now just over 9,500 customers experiencing this outage. We estimate this will be a multi-day outage for some customers due to the extent of damage. We have identified more than 50 broken poles including both transmission and distribution poles. We expect that number to increase given we have not been able to assess some areas due to impassable roads.
Our crews continue to focus on making the area safe and secure. Multiple crews are currently working on tree clearance in the areas that we are able to access and more will be deployed in this morning once the roads are fully cleared. We have called in line crews and support teams from across Wisconsin and Iowa to assist. We are also trucking in additional poles and equipment that will be needed.

07.03.2026 (8:30 p.m.) – A severe burst of storms passed through southern/southeastern Wisconsin impacting a portion of the communities Alliant Energy serves in the Walworth County area. The Delavan and Como areas around Lake Geneva were particularly hard hit with high winds. At it’s peak there were approximately 12,000 customers out around the Lake Geneva area due to the downed trees and wires. Additional crews were brought in to assist with restoration efforts.
Alliant Energy is working closely with Walworth Public Works and WI Emergency Management to coordinate efforts due to the number of downed trees, downed poles/wires and impassable roads.
