DELAVAN TOWNSHIP — A Texas man died and two local residents were injured Monday in an interstate crash that sent a vehicle down an embankment near Delavan.
According to a news release, the Town of Delavan Police Department was called about 6:20 p.m. July 27 for a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 43 near Mound Road in the Town of Delavan.
Investigators say that a 2019 Ford Fusion and a 2010 Dodge Caravan were both traveling southbound on I-43 when the vehicles collided.
As a result of the collision, the Caravan left the roadway and came to rest at the bottom of the embankment near Mound Road.
The driver of the Caravan, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Fusion, a resident of Delavan, and a passenger, from Elkhorn, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol was requested to conduct a full crash reconstruction to assist with the investigation.
