DELAVAN — The City of Delavan Parks and Recreation has announced its first ever Downhill Derby to take place in July on the Terrace Street sledding hill.

The race will take place Saturday, July 24, 2021, with a registration deadline of July 9.

Participants will compete in their appropriate age division with the opportunity for the first three places to receive a trophy or medal.

Race details

Location:

  • Pre-Race Day inspection will take place at the Mill Pond Parking lot in Veterans Park
  • Check In/Staging area will be on McDowell by Veterans Park Playground (On Race Day)
  • Races will be held on Terrace Street on July 24th
  • Divisions: Races will be held sometime between 10am and 3pm depending on number of entries.
  • Schedules: Will be given out after our registration Deadline of Friday, July 9th
  • Compact Class: Ages 8-9 (Course #: 2428)
  • Midsize Class: Ages 10-11 (Course #: 2430)
  • Large Class: Ages 12-13 (Course #: 2431)
  • Adult Class: 14 & Older (Course #: 2433)\

Fee:

Registrants using City of Delavan Park and Rec. Derby Cars ($25 per resident entry or $35 per non-resident entry)

Registrants building their own vehicle must buy a wheel kit through the City of Delavan Park and Rec. Wheel kit is $65 for residents or $91 for non-residents. Wheel kit purchases include 1 free entry. Every subsequent driver is an additional $25 or $35 fee depending on residency.
