UPDATE: The Racine County Sheriff says they have identified the driver and located the truck.

WALWORTH COUNTY — Authorties continue to look for a vehicle they say was involved in a hit-and-run Tuesday that injured a We Energies worker.

Police say the vehicle was traveling southbound on S. Honey Lake Rd., approaching Spring Prairie Rd. in the Town of Burlington about 11:40 a.m. Tuesday when it struck a flagger.

Upon striking the flagger, the vehicle backed up and fled northbound on S. Honey Lake Rd.

The worker was transported via Flight for Life with significant injuries.

The vehicle is described by witnesses as a white, Chevrolet, 4-dr., diesel, with black rims, and tinted windows. The vehicle is possibly a late 2000s model.

The truck was captured on surveillance video later in Walworth County on County Highway DD traveling north toward Wisconsin Highway 20.

The vehicle appeared to be leaking fluid as it drove away. Broken parts from the vehicle were found on scene consistent with black molding.

Witnesses on scene did not report any decals or stickers that would assist in identifying the offending vehicle.
