DELAVAN — Two separate tornadoes ripped through Walworth County Friday, downing power lines and damaging buildings, the National Weather Service in Milwaukee confirmed Saturday.
A third tornado touched down in Rock County near Beloit.
All three were rated as high end EF-0 tornadoes with estimated peak winds of 80 m.p.h.
There were no injuries, according to the weather service.
The first tornado touched down about 8 p.m. on the east side of the village of Sharon.
It traveled northeast about 11 miles, passing just west of the village of Walworth before losing steam over Delavan Lake near Lake Lake Resort.
Then at 8:10 p.m., a second tornado touched down on the north end of Geneva National in Geneva Township.
It traveled 6 miles straight north, clipping the east side of Elkhorn before winding down over Evergreen Golf Club.
Early observers reported buildings damaged near Sharon, and Highway 120 was closed because of downed power lines.
