PRESS RELEASE

WHITEWATER – On Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:54 p.m., Whitewater Police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of W. Whitewater Street, in the City of Whitewater, for a report of an individual who had suffered a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 21-year-old female who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Also present in the apartment was a 23-year-old male who was known to the deceased female. Through investigation, it was determined that leading up to the shooting, an altercation had occurred between the two. The male was detained, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are confident that there is no continued threat to the community at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
