DELAVAN — The City of Delavan Parks and Recreation Department and Parks and Recreation Commission is looking for community input on a potential dog park.
There are three locations under consideration: Lauterbach Park, Yadon Park or behind Lowes.
The city will be collecting responses to an online survey through Thursday, Nov. 18. Thanks to all who participate! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YKM2QM6
The descriptions in the survey are:
Lauterbach Park (PROS: Central Location, 7-8 car parking, 1.6 acres, open passive space. slight increase in maintenance. CONS: limits future park expansion, no shade currently, parking may be insufficient during high traffic time)
Yadon Park (PROS: 2 acres, 3 potential points of entry off of Whispering pines, Tamarack St. and Autumn Drive, passive recreational space, in a highly-populated area, Large 50+ car parking lot, CONS: Limited Shade, grounds may be wet due to retention basin, the parking lot is far away from the dog park)
Behind Lowes Improvement store (PROS: 3+ acres, close access to high traffic area, currently unused space, access to large parking lot provided the City works cooperatively with Lowes, CONS: Larger startup cost with increased maintenance costs, currently a retention basin with the potential wet area, users must drive to the location)
