JANESVILLE — A Genoa City man was arrested Tuesday after police say he robbed a Janesville convenience store armed with a shotgun.

Kevin Rolseth, 28, faces possible charges of armed robbery and vehicle theft.

The Janesville Police Department were sent about 1 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the convenience store located at 1840 Beloit Ave. on Janesville’s south side.

A man armed with a shotgun entered the store, threatened the employee, and demanded money, according to a Janesville police news release.

The man left the store in a vehicle. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle, a silver Subaru, in a parking lot on Dupont Drive where they arrested Rolseth.

Rolseth is in custody at the Rock County Jail, pending his initial court appearance.  Evidence from the robbery, including the suspected firearm used, was located in and around the vehicle, according to police.
