LAKE GENEVA — A driver who authorities say was going the wrong way down U.S. Highway 12 at speeds of 100 m.p.h. was uninjured when his car eventually crashed.
Christopher Jeffery Pinnow, 41, Ft. Atkinson, now faces multiple charges.
The suspect struck no other motorists during the incident, according to authorities.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s 911 Communications Center received a report about 11:50 p.m. Saturday of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on US Highway 12 at I-43 near Elkhorn.
The vehicle was reported to have been traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 12 at speeds nearing 100 mph.
Officers from the Lake Geneva Police Department located the vehicle on Highway 12 eastbound in the westbound lanes and tracked it at speeds over 100 mph, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
Lake Geneva Police followed the vehicle and reported it had crashed near Clover Road and US Hwy 12 in the Town of Bloomfield.
Pinnow was uninjured as a result of the crash.
