DELAVAN TOWNSHIP — Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Thursday evening in the Town of Delavan.
According to a press release from the Town of Delavan Police Department, officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. to a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 67 near the intersection with Highway 50.
When they arrived, emergency personnel found a single vehicle and a 24-year-old male pedestrian from Milwaukee with ties to the community who suffered critical injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 55-year-old man from Williams Bay, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team has been requested to conduct a reconstruction of the accident to aid in the ongoing investigation.
The Town of Delavan Police Department expressed their gratitude to the good Samaritans who stopped to offer assistance, provided statements, and supported first responders.
They also thanked the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Delavan Fire & Rescue, and the Village of Williams Bay Police Department for their assistance.
