LAKE GENEVA — Just in time to welcome tourists for the traditional beginning of the busy summer season, the city of Lake Geneva says it expects to wrap up construction on Wrigley Drive ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.

According to an update from the city, curb and gutter was installed on Wrigley Drive Tuesday morning.

Once the concrete is poured for the curb and gutter, paving could begin as early as Friday, May 15.

Site restoration is scheduled to take place May 21 or 22.

Work began May 4 and the project area runs from the bridge on Wrigley Drive across the White River to Baker Street.

The project includes milling and resurfacing of the road, plus select curb, gutter and sidewalk repairs.

Access to the boat launch remains open, except during active construction directly in front of it.
